Why the brand stayed grounded

Not everyone understands what you are building.
And not everyone will like it.
I heard it more than once.
“Who does she think she is?”
And not only that.
Some things stay.Some things hurt.
And yes, there were moments where it hit harder than expected.
But at the same time, I understood:
This is part of it.
Not everyone sees what you see.
Some people only see a product. Some only see what is visible on Instagram.
And some see more.
And that’s okay.
In the beginning, even though I was surrounded by people, clients, conversations, feedback
it still felt quiet at times.
Almost alone.
Because building somethingis not the same as being around people.
You carry decisions on your own. You think ahead. You move forward without knowing how things will unfold.
And I also understood that not being a known face made things harder.
People asked:
Who is she? Why her?
So I made my Instagram public.
I started sharing more directly.
But even then, one thing stayed clear for me:
I was never going to push things just to be seen.
Because I don’t believe in that.
Not everything that is hype is worth following. Not every viral trend works.
People get tired.
They don’t need to see the same thing over and over again.
Of course, I could say every day:
“Buy this product. It’s the best.”
But is that the way?
No.
Not for me. And not for the brand.
For me, it became simple.
I choose what I share. How often I share it. And in which way.
The same with the people we worked with.
No pressure.
No forcing.
Be natural.
Be yourself.
We had clear values, but nothing complicated.
Over time, I understood something very clearly.
Growth can easily change how a brand behaves.
It becomes louder.
Faster.
More reactive.
More content.
More pressure.
More noise.
But I never wanted that, because I knew how this brand was built.
Step by step.Through real people. Through real experiences. Through trust.
And I knew that if I started to overpush, to overexpose, to follow everything that moves,
I would slowly forget what it took to get here.
The work.
The effort.
The people who trusted me along the way.
That is why the brand stayed grounded.
Not by accident.
But by decision.
I chose not to follow every trend. I chose not to overcommunicate. I chose not to push things that don’t align.
Because not everything that works for others works for you.
And not everything that brings attention builds something real.
Over time, I also understood something else.
When you build something yourself, when you work for it every day, you start to value things differently. You think twice.
Before decisions.
Before spending.
Before pushing something that doesn’t matter.
I know what I went through to get what I have today.
I value every money I earn.I value every customer I have.
In my studio.
With my brand.
Everywhere.
Nothing is just there.
Everything comes from work.
And because of that,it matters how you move.
I love fashion.
I share it.
I enjoy it.
I also work with brands.
But even there, it stays the same.
I don’t push something just because I can.
I look at what stands behind it. How it is built. What it represents.
And only then, I share it.
Because if it doesn’t align, it doesn’t make sense.
Being present online also means people will have opinions.
Some will support you. Some will question you. Some will talk.
That’s normal.
But not everything deserves your attention.
And not every word deserves your weight.
That’s something I had to learn.
Sometimes the hard way.
If I could say something to my younger self, or to anyone going through this:
Not everything you hearis meant for you.
Even when things feel unfair, heavy,or difficult, go through it.
Don’t stop there.
Because at the same time, there are people who speak about you in a positive way
even when you are not in the room.
Give weight to that.
Appreciate it.
And keep going.
Staying grounded is not something you decide once.
It’s something you choose again and again.
In how you build. In how you show up. In what you share.
Not everything needs to be loud. Not everything needs to be shared.
Even as a brand.
So for me, it’s simple.
Stay grounded. Don’t go crazy.
Stay true to what you are building.
And remember - you don’t have to prove everything.
Just keep building.
With love,
Margareta
